In DeRidder, La, the search for outstanding teacher is now on with students also participating in said event by sending their thoughts online about their own choices for the best candidate for the contest. In this way, many teachers have also shown their happiness since there are many people and groups that are also actively supporting them especially on teacher appreciation week celebrated every year.
The Beauregard Parish School Board is now currently evaluating the entries of students so that they can have their final result of the contest. As a show of support, the Beauregard Daily News is also announcing and encouraging students to participate in the contest and submit their choices not later May 1, 2009.
It was also learned that from May 4-8, 2009, students from all areas in Beauregard Parish are encouraged to submit a short letter with not more than 100 words, telling who their favorite teacher is and why they also like that particular teacher. The entry may also include a photograph of the student with their teacher.
For interested students, they can simply mail their letters to Beauregard Daily News, ‘Favorite Teacher,” P.O. Box 698, or personally hand carry the entry at the newspaper’s office at 903 W. First Street, or email at bdnews@suddenlinkmail.com. They are also urged to include their names and contact numbers.
This is only one of the many schedules for teacher appreciation week activities in many states of America that teachers are very grateful. This shows that with the massive advocacy of many parents, students and support groups, the teachers are now enjoying the annual celebration for teachers.
But the most important for all these celebrations is that students and all people from all walks of life should understand and remember how important the role of educators in our lives is.
